Filtration Systems for Untreated Water
Those who get their water from lakes, rivers or wells cannot be as assured it is safe to drink as in municipalities where they use chlorine (or chloramine) to disinfect it.
We offer two main means of treating microbiologically unsafe water to residential users, which either come standard in or are offered as options to the water purification systems listed in this sub-category:
- Ultraviolet-C germicidal filtration, which kills up to 99.95% of viruses, bacteria and pathogens - but requires a power source; and,
- Nanofiltration, which removes protozoa, bacteria, viruses, and over 85% of pharmaceutical drugs tested.
Of course, germs aren't the only things that can be removed: our water purification systems can also take out tastes or odors, sediments, an over-abundance of some minerals (hard water), or of trace elements such as mercury, producing the equivalent of bottled water at just a fraction of the cost. They include point-of-use ones which either go under (and through) a sink or just on a countertop, and Whole House Systems for treating all the water you use (including for flushing or washing).
For those with very unique needs, it may be possible to customize some OPUS systems with substitute or additional filters, or to tailor make a new system, upon request. If so, this might incur an additional $150 fee to cover the costs of the installation, design, and new documentation for the installation guide.
