Chromium, whose active form is known as GTF Chromium (for Glucose Tolerance Factor; it's sometimes rendered as Chromium-GTF) once it's been taken up by the body, enhances the metabolic process by supporting how insulin functions in the body. Insulin, of course, is the hormone responsible for regulating blood sugar levels by promoting the uptake of glucose into cells, as well as metabolizing carbohydrates, fats, and proteins which is necessary for energy production.
