Product Notes:
Butyric Acid is a favourite food for the epithelial cells lining the inside of the large intestine and colon. It's a short chain fatty acid that's not only found in common foods such as butter and plant oils, but is also produced naturally in our intestines following the digestion of dietary fibres. Higher consumption of fibres has a correlation to lower blood lipid cholesterol levels, weight loss, colon health, and more, and butyric acid is one of the main reasons why.
The base of butyric acid is Butyrate, meaning that when butyrate is combined with calcium/magnesium, it becomes butyric acid: a combination that makes for a more stable compound well-suited as a supplement, while also adding the extra benefit of calcium and magnesium.
Short chain fatty acids like butyric acid help break down other fats in the intestines, which aids in weight loss and improved energy, since the fats that get broken down can then be used for energy, especially for the epithelial cells themselves. Moreover, butyric acid can also help control your appetite by increasing the levels of leptin (the hormone that reduces appetite) while also decreasing ghrelin (the hormone that triggers hunger).
Since butyric acid is one of the more preferred sources for cell food in the linings of the intestines and colon, it can also be used to aid digestion, and has been shown to benefit those suffering from IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), leaky gut syndrome, and traveller's diarrhea. It may also help slow down carbohydrate digestion and lower blood sugar levels.
