Whether you've always wanted a food processor as well as a blender but don't really have enough counter space for both, or it's simply time to replace yours, you can't go wrong with a Vitamix.
Why get two full machines when the one you already know and love can do the job of both with this new container and its five types of cutting blades (two of the discs have different sets of capacities, on either side). These blades are much sharper than the ones in the regular blender containers, to be capable of either chopping, shredding or mincing a variety of foods with consistency and precision or mixing thicker or "stickier" doughs, batters or butters where you still want some sold bits, but without being so sharp they pose an extreme safety hazard. And unlike some stand-alone food processors which use complicated twist-lock mechanisms and assembly procedures, these parts simply stack together and snap into place in a very intuitive way, so you'll soon find it just as easy to use as their regular blender containers, plus all the parts are dishwasher safe (except for base, which has a smart safety sensor).
What's Included in the Box:
* a SELF-DETECT® base, designed to fit on and work with the safety features of the Ascent and Venturist lines of blenders (which automatically detect which type of container has been mounted on the base and will only use the right speed settings appropriate for them, and will not start until all the parts are clicked into place);
* a 12-Cup (2 Litre) capacity work bowl, which fits easily onto the base and can easily be detached from it with a lever, whether to empty it between 'loads' or for cleaning;
* a lid for that work bowl, which includes a large, crescent-moon shaped chute on top for feeding the food through;
* two Food Pushers, to work the food chute built into the lid: one large, which fills that whole chute space, for pushing larger diameter items in (whether in whole, or in halves or quarters, as the case may be) for slicing, for example; and one small: a cylinder, for feeding smaller diameter items such as carrots in vertically (through the middle section of the larger pusher), for shredding;
* a Multi-Use blade (also known as an S-blade), which can be used to finely chop, mince, knead, and mix ingredients;
* two reversible slice/shred discs: one Fine, for shredding into small pieces or making thin slices (depending on which side of the disc is facing up when you insert it); and one Coarse, for making larger shredded pieces, or thicker slices;
* a storage case for those two cutting discs, which also fits into the lid once it's assembles, which then both go both into the work bowl, so they can then all be stored together in a cabinet with a minimal footprint.
