St. Francis Ear Oil is an herbal remedy formulated to help relieve the inflammation, pain, discomfort, and itching associated with ear infections, whether from swimmer's ear, or non-specific dermatitis of the external ear canal.
Product Notes:
The primary ingredients in this natural ear drop formula are Mullein and St. John's wort, to ease the topical pain; Calendula (and Mullein, again), to heal the tissue; and Garlic, to fight the infection.
This is called an Ear "Oil" because it's delivered in a base of high quality olive oil (which makes it appropriate for removing excess earwax), but make no mistake – it's also a formula for Ear Ache Relief, and a highly effective one, at that. These two studies by Sarrell et al. found this combination of ingredients to be as effective in reducing the ear drum pain and other symptoms of acute otitis media as a prescription anaesthetic treatment:
St. Francis Ear Oil Ingredients:
Per 1 ml:
Mullein (Verbascum thapsus, flower and leaf): 0.263 ml
Calendula (Calendula officinalis, flower) 0.263 ml
Garlic (Allium sativum, clove): 0.263 ml
St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum, flower): 0.211 ml.
Non-medicinal ingredients: Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
These ingredient are all Certified Organic.
Suggested Usage:
All ages: place 5 drops (0.25 ml) of ear oil directly in the external ear canal, three times daily.
Warnings:
Keep ear drops out of reach of children. For external use only. Do not take St. Francis Ear Oil if you have an allergy to the Compositae (Daisy) family of plants. Occasional allergic reactions have occurred in sensitive individuals; discontinue use if this occurs. Consult a healthcare practitioner if you have changes in hearing and/or discharge from the ear, or if symptoms worsen or persist.
