The principal ingredient of the original Rhoziva and its main variants is Rhodiola rosea – a flowering plant used to improve mental focus, relieve stress-related symptoms of mental fatigue, and support both physical and mental stamina.

In both the original Rhoziva formula and the 'AM' part of this kit, Canadian-grown Rhodiola has been complemented with a range of B-complex vitamins, which are also widely used for rejuvenating flagging energy levels and relieving stress, along with some magnesium to induce calm.

The most notable difference between this AM version and the original is the dosage of the Rhodiola has been doubled in to make it more convenient to get the timing of the two parts of this kit right. (The original type requires one to take two capsules with food by mid-day; here it's just one, first thing.)

Of course, those who are subject to sagging energy levels or distracted thoughts due to stressful personal, work, or world events during the day are apt to have difficulty getting to sleep or having a sound sleep at night, too. So Nanton Nutraceuticals has paired that first formula with a PM one, which consists of two ingredients which work at a more psychological level to promote calmness and relaxation and to enhance sleep quality:

* L-Theanine, an amino acid derived from green tea, which helps one relax without actually being sedating (so: no 'hangover' effect), at least in part because it's the precursor to the inhibitory neurotransmitter, GABA; and,

* Ashwagandha, an evergreen shrub whose "sleep-inducing" effect is built right into the latter part of its scientific/Latin name, Withania somnifera. It's probably the only adaptogen that one can take at night to help counteract the feeling of being tired and wired and to get to sleep and be able to feel rejuvenated after.

Ingredients:

Each Rhoziva AM capsule contains:

200 mg mg Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea, Root) Extract dry standardized (Rosavins 3%)
20 mg Thiamine (Thiamine hydrochloride)
5 mg Riboflavin
20 mg Niacinamide
10 mg D-Pantothenic acid (Calcium D-pantothenate)
10 mg Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate)
0.2 mg Folate (L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate)
0.05 mg Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin)
0.1 mg Biotin
40 mg Magnesium (Magnesium citrate)

Non-medicinal ingredients: Maltodextrin, Magnesium stearate, Silicon dioxide, Hypromellose, and Turmeric.

Each Rhoziva PM capsule contains:

200 mg Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera, Root) (Root) 30:1 Extract dry: 200 mg (QCE* 6,000 mg)
200 mg L-Theanine

Non-medicinal ingredients: Maltodextrin, Magnesium stearate, Silicon dioxide, Hypromellose, and Elderberry juice powder.

*QCE = Quantity crude equivalent of the plant material.

Suggested Usage:

Rhoziva AM: Adult 19 years and older: Take one capsule with food early in the day, or as directed by a healthcare professional. Avoid taking before / near bedtime.

Rhoziva PM: Adults 19 years and older: Take just one capsule, either in the evening or right before bedtime (if you find that works for you), or some time in the afternoon (if you find taking it later seems to interfere with your sleep), or as directed by a healthcare professional. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

Warnings:

Do not use the Rhoziva AM/PM Kit if you have bipolar disorder or bipolar spectrum disorder. Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or taking antidepressant medication, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or birth control medication. Avoid taking with alcohol or with products that cause drowsiness. Stop use if you experience more irritability or insomnia than before.

Some people may experience drowsiness: exercise caution if operating heavy machinery, driving a motor vehicle, or involved in activities requiring mental alertness. Consult a healthcare practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen, or if sleeplessness persists for more than 4 weeks (chronic insomnia).
