Want to lose the grey completely naturally, without using harsh chemicals or harmful synthetic ingredients which risk damaging your hair or getting absorbed into your body?
Colour Me Organic Hair Colour is an ideal option for those who are sensitive or allergic to the chemicals found in many other colouring products (such as parabens, PPD, Resorcinol, and ammonia or peroxide).
It's relatively long-lasting: typically lasting anywhere from two weeks to 30 days, and often moving from the former to the latter with subsequent uses. (Sometimes it may take up to five days after the application to reach its peak colour; however, as organic hair colors oxidize and become deeper and richer in color within the first few days.)
It can be used safely at home, with minimal preparation (just wash and dry your hair first, blend some with water in a bowl, and brush it on) and minimal follow-up (just let it set for about an hour then rinse out – no need for re-shampooing or conditioning), on any type or colour of hair (even overtop of synthetically dyed hair).
And it doesn't only provide colouring: it's also nourishing, which can help make the hair more lustrous and thick, and help protect it, by fortifying the hair shaft (which can help prevent breakage and over-drying).
Of course, an entirely herbal and plant-based approach like this does have certain limitations, in addition to it needing at least an hour to remain on.
First, for those who want a darkening effect, it works best with those who are only showing up to 40% grey hair at the time of application. If your hair is almost completely grey to start with, it may turn out to be either somewhat orange or purple, at first. That can be reversed to produce a nice dark colour, by using a pure Indigo paste to neutralize the orange tone, or a pure Henna paste to neutralize the purple, but that means you should probably find and have those products on hand first and be prepared to do them in a succession of two days over a weekend if you are quite grey to begin with. (Even some not-overly-grey users may temporarily get a slight violet/purple or orangey tone, at first, but that should go away within a few hours.)
Second, even if you're only 30 to 40 percent grey to start with, or if you're dark to start with but want a lightening effect or a change from your existing colour, it may take more than an hour of setting time or even more than one application to get the results you want the first time out, especially if your hair is damaged or has been chemically treated, permed, or dyed recently. But it's perfectly safe to leave the paste on for up to three hours, or to do a series of applications every 24 hours. In many cases, there will be enough product in the box for two or three applications.
Finally, for those who may have used henna hair dye before, you should be aware that even though this is partly henna-based, it needs to be used immediately after the paste is made, when the fairly hot water has activated the other ingredients: do not leave the mixture to set for an hour or two before applying - brush it on right away, while it is still warm.

Suggested Usage:
Amounts Required:
Each Radico Organic Hair Colour kit contains a 100 gram packet of powder, but in most cases, not all of it will be needed for a single application – it depends on the length of your hair. E.g., it may only take a fifth of the packet (20 grams), for very short hair.
Short Hair: 20 to 30 grams
Shoulder length/ Medium size hair: 40 to 60 grams
Waist length hair: 70 to 100 grams
Preparation:
Do not prepare the paste until your hair has been freshly washed and is completely dry and you'll be ready to apply it right away.
Measure out the amount of powder required for your hair length, as given above, and place it in a bowl, large enough to accommodate up to four times that volume. (For the remainder, reseal the bag with a clip, or place the bag in an air tight container for the next use.)
Optional additions: Some users report that this product works even better by adding a raw egg, freshly squeezed lemon juice (from either half a lemon or an entire one, depending on how much you are making), and two tablespoons of olive oil to the powder in the bowl at this stage, before going on to add the warm water and blending it all into a paste.
Put on the gloves (included in the Accessories box) to avoid colouring your hands (although it will not stain the skin – i.e., it will wash off).
Heat up some water so it's very warm (60 to 70 C, or 140 to 170 F), or add some colder water to boiling water until it reaches that temperature. Add that warm water to the bowl, in a 3 to 1 ratio (1 part Organic Hair Color to 3 parts of water, where you can measure the water in milliliters, instead; that would correspond to 90 ml of water needed for the 30 grams of powder for short hair, for example) and mix it with a fork or whisk.
The goal is to achieve a paste with the consistency of yogurt or ketchup – not too thick or too thin – so adjust the quantity of water you add as required. (Or add more powder if you have made it too thin, or it may not coat well.)
Application:
Immediately after mixing (it works best when it's warm), apply the paste to your hair, using the included brush – starting at the roots, and spreading evenly to the ends. Grey hairs may require a heavier application of paste.
Once the paste is evenly distributed, use the enclosed shower cap to cover your hair to let it set.
Finishing:
Wait at least 60 minutes with the enclosed shower cap on over the product after applying the paste. If you want a darker colour, leave it on for longer than that; it's safe for it to remain on hair for two to three hours. To intensify the results, you can apply some heat with a hair dryer during this time.
Optional: You can cut that finishing time in half by using a heated/thermal hair cap over the shower cap.
Note, the colour will actually continue to darken over the next four to five days after this.
Rinsing:
After that one to three hours of setting is done, rinse your hair thoroughly just with running water, until the water runs clear (free of colour). Do not shampoo it, for at least 24 hours. Style and dry hair as desired.
Warnings:
In rare cases, some may be sensitive or allergic to one or more of the herbs, flowers, pollen grains, or fragrances, so a patch test is advised before complete use.
