pureWash - Desiccant Dryer Replacement Cartridge

The pureWash Pro Laundry System produces the Ozone it uses as an oxidizing cleaning agent from air, and is far more effective at doing so if the incoming air is relatively dry rather than quite humid (which it is apt to be in the summer and/or in basements, where the laundry machines typically are). Consequently, these units have been designed with a built-in drying chamber to pretreat the air by drawing it through a cartridge filled with desiccant materials which soak up water vapour.

The coloured silica gel beads in the bottom two-thirds of this chamber start out as blue, but will gradually turn purple as they become saturated, and when they all end up as pink, you should replace the cartridge. You can monitor that progress through the transparent slot on the front of the unit, and it is very easy to remove the door on the left side of the unit which it fits onto to check that as well.

Directions for Replacing Cartridge:

1) Remove the Desiccant Dryer Door door/tray on the left side of the pureWash Pro by pinching the two sliders with your thumb and middle finger to release the door, and just slide/pull the dryer assembly out, while taking note of the original position of the gasket on the outlet of the cartridge.

2) Use a small standard screwdriver or a similar thin, stiff-bladed tool to depress / release the Locking Tab on the inside of the white Desiccant Dryer Door (about halfway under the Cartridge).

3) Continue holding that Locking Tab down, and slide the Cartridge upwards to remove it from the Door.

4) Install the new cartridge on the Desiccant Dryer Door.

5) Ensure that the small gasket is in place on the outlet of the cartridge where it should be (as noted in step 1), and reinstall the reloaded Desiccant Dryer Door into your pureWash unit.
