P5P functions as a coenzyme: as a sort of "vehicle" to carry over 150 types of enzymes around so they can carry out a wide variety of important physiological processes throughout the body and brain, including: forming tissues; metabolizing fats; fueling muscles by metabolizing carbs and amino acids; producing stomach acid; balancing sodium and potassium levels in cells; converting some nutrients into other more usable ones; and helping to absorb and use other vitamins or minerals we need in our nervous system and other areas like B12 and magnesium. It's even involved in the production of important neurotransmitters related to mood and sleep, such as dopamine, GABA, and serotonin.
There are some disorders which impair the body's ability to convert other forms of vitamin B6 to this active cofactor form or its passage to the brain, and deficiencies in P5P or PLP have been associated with inflammations and numerous diseases, including atherosclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, epilepsy, pneumonia, and more.

Suggested Usage:
Adults: Take 1 capsule daily with meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. Store in a cool, dry area.
