Info: 5 g Glass Jar, in Cardboard Box; Available in 7 Colours
Although some may associate 'Rouge' with a thick red paste to either mask pallor, pockmarks or wrinkles or to feign coquettishness or youth, Pure Anada's modern take on this type of cosmetic (which they also describe as a 'Tint' and a 'Cream Blush') isn't only designed for more mature skin, but for all ages and skin types.

Product Notes:
Of course, because these are creams, they're ideal for providing a flawless, slightly dewy look when blended onto the cheekbones without settling into the fine lines and wrinkles to accentuate them, as powders tend to. But they're not an oily cream, so they'll work just as well for younger people or those with oily skin, without causing problems. And the colours are matte, not shimmery, so can look wonderful on anyone.
Rather than being named after places or recent celebrities one might associate with the colours as is often the case, this new line has been named after inspirational women in Canadian history or literature:
Abigail Becker, Charlotte Small, Nellie McLung, Isabella Valancy Crawford, Harriet Tubman, Lucy Maud Montgomery, and Viola Desmond.
In the final photo with the swatches of all 7 shades applied to both a dark-skinned and a light-skinned model's arms, the shades were applied in the following order (beginning at their wrists): Abigail, Charlotte, Nellie, Isabella, Harriet, Maud, Viola.
(Please note, the actual products' shades may vary slightly from the ones shown in the product photo, depending on your monitor or the lighting conditions of the original photos.)
In addition to the light Peach/Vanilla aroma they all shared, Pure Anada describes the characteristics of these various shades as follows:
Shade | Description | Finish/Usage Guidance |
Abigail | An angelic glow | Use as a highlight |
Charlotte | A natural nude, subtle and earth-inspired | Matte texture (not glossy) with Opaque coverage (not sheer) |
Nellie | A muted mauve | Same; the perfect nude for fair and light skin tones. |
Isabella | A creamy peach | Suited for a touch of warmth |
Harriet | A lovely berry | Matte texture (not glossy) with Opaque coverage (not sheer) |
Maud | A pretty pink, absolutely the sweetest, naturally pigmented rose. | Matte texture (not glossy) with Opaque coverage (not sheer) |
Viola | A true cool pink, so classic and sophisticated; a natural pop of bright colour. | Matte texture (not glossy) with Opaque coverage (not sheer) |

Apply sparingly to either the lips or cheeks (or both) using either your fingers or a brush. (Or as this video from a makeup artist shows, it can even be applied to the eyelids.)
Lips: apply with your finger, or a retractable lip brush for a more precise application.
Cheeks: to apply with your finger, just dip a finger into the rouge jar, and tap the fingertip on your cheeks to blend. For a more diffused application, use a mini-kabuki brush. Simply dab the brush into the jar, swirl it around a bit to collect some, and stipple or sweep it onto the cheeks to blend.
Use whole jar within 12 months after opening.
