The only natural 6-day vaginal tablet treatment for non-specific vaginitis. Widely used in Europe for over a decade, Prevegyne is now available in Canada with the convenience of a vaginal applicator.
Product Best Before March 2025.
Product Notes:
Developed by Duchesnay, Prevegyne is natural, effective, and safe treatment to help overcome recurrent bacterial vaginosis and its unpleasant symptoms, including vaginal odor.
Vaginitis is the most common vaginal infection in women of reproductive age. Prevegyne's controlled-release vaginal tablets contain ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), and work by acidifying vaginal fluid, lowering the pH, and stimulating the growth of protective bacteria. This process helps restore vaginal flora balance and stop the overgrowth of undesirable bacteria.
Prevegyne is a clinically-proven treatment recognized by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada.
Prevegyne comes in 250 mg tablets, packaged in blister strips. Each box contains two blister strips containing three tablets each, plus a plastic applicator to insert them, if you wish (they can also be manually inserted), and a leaflet with information and instructions.

Suggested Usage:
If you have never been diagnosed with a bacterial vaginosis (BV), it is recommended that you consult your doctor or healthcare professional before use, to determine the cause of your symptoms and the appropriate treatment.
For adults, the recommended dosage to help reduce/relieve symptoms of non-specific vaginitis/bacterial vaginosis is to insert exactly one (1) Prevegyne vaginal tablet per day as far as it will comfortably go, while in a lying position. (These are intended for vaginal use only, and should not be swallowed.)
To optimize contact time with the vaginal mucosa and minimize the chances of the tablets being displaced, it is recommended that the tablets be inserted when you are preparing to sleep; this will also help reduce leakage.
A six day course of treatment is recommended to restore physiological pH and normal vaginal flora. If you are still experiencing symptoms after 6 days or if your symptoms worsen while using it, please consult a healthcare professional.
There is no contraindication for using during menstruation; however, it may or may not be as effective then – that has not been studied. Please refer to your doctor or other healthcare professional for advice about using Prevegyne during your period.
Store the unused tablets in a dry place, at room temperature. Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Be careful not to crush or split the tablets when removing them from the blister packs. Avoid the inclination to apply direct pressure to the center of the tablet to pop them out; rather, they recommend using a fingernail or the tip of a spoon at an edge of each tablet's space to gently break the foil underneath the blister there, to start with. (If one does get broken in half, use it first, since it may lose its potency when it is no longer intact.)
Warnings:
You should not use Prevegyne if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are hypersensitive to vitamin C (ascorbic acid) or to any of the product's ingredients. Consult your healthcare professional prior to use if you are: suffering from a vaginal infection due to Candida; or taking anticoagulants (blood thinners); or suffering from hemolytic anemia (premature destruction of red blood cells).
Prevegyne Side Effects: The most common adverse reactions associated with this product are vaginal itching and burning, and other adverse reactions may include leucorrhoea (vaginal discharge), pain or insomnia.
