A root vegetable (somewhat akin to radishes) which grows in high elevations in central Peru (where it has to be very hardy to survive), Maca is becoming increasingly popular, not only as a means of promoting energy and alertness levels, but also for a variety of hormonal effects.

The Organically Certified Maca in this vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO product was grown 12,000 feet above sea level on the Junín Plateau in Peru; harvested with Fair Trade and Socially Responsible methods; and initially prepared using the traditional sun-drying method to keep it pure and to preserve its nutrients. Then it was fermented to make it easier to digest, quicker to absorb, and richer in nutrients.
Suggested Usage:
Mix 2 teaspoons (8.4 grams) into a hot or cold beverage (including juice blends or smoothies), or add it to your meals.* Store in a cool, dry place.
