Although many North Americans may associate "nibs" with a brand of licorice candy, those took their name from this usage (which was coined in 1802), for chopped up bits of the beans (or technically seeds) from the same types of cacao trees that are used to produce chocolate.
Although they have the same antioxidant, fiber, and vitamin and mineral content as pure dark chocolate and most of its rich flavour and 'notes', they can be quite bitter on their own, which is why these have been coated with chocolate and sweetened with organic coconut palm sugar.
One type has also been infused with maca - an adaptogenic herb that many find energizing.

Suggested Usage:
Chocolate Cacao Nibs can be enjoyed straight out of the bag or added to a trail mix as is, as snacks. They can also be used as toppings, sprinkled over breakfasts or desserts such as oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, chia pudding, or ice cream. You can also bake with them, as a substitute for conventional chocolate chips, or add them to smoothie bowls.
