Product Notes:
Time-honored for thousands of years, Tulsi (or Holy Basil) has been used as a holistic herbal cornerstone, due to its medicinal and healing properties as well as its spiritually uplifting ability. And Gotu Kola, an herb native to Southeast Asia, has been found to have antioxidant properties and memory-enhancing and neuroprotective effects.
Ayurvedic medicine has utilized Tulsi for centuries, and its beneficial effects are likely due to its powerful antioxidant profile, which contains components such as eugenol which assist in supporting blood sugar levels and insulin metabolism, maintaining healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels, remedying colds and flus, as well as decreasing stress and anxiety.
Tulsi has a complex flavour profile, resembling a mixture of mint, licorice and clove, and the blend of the three types may also help optimize digestive and immune function.
Gotu kola (Centella asiatica) is one of the most important herbs in the Ayurvedic medical tradition, since it is thought to be able to help balance all three doshas, because it has all three types of tastes (the bitter, pungent, and sweet) and has a cooling effect on the body. The leaves from this perennial plant native to Asian wetlands also feature in some Western supplements, both for energy and concentration boosting and as a complement to a formula for restoring women's estrogen balance. Some studies also indicate it can be particularly useful for helping those with age-related cognitive decline.
The combination of Tulsi and Gotu Kola may be helpful for both stress-relieving and purifying purposes.
