Wrinkles, creases, and lines on the skin happen for several reasons, including facial expressions (smiles, frowns, or squints); exposure to sunlight or other sources of UV light; and of course aging. Starting in our twenties, we gradually lose the ability to produce both the collagen which makes up most of the dermis (that dense network of tissue forming the middle layer of the skin, which determines how firm – and wrinkly – the exterior layer is) and its elastin (which helps the skin stay flexible and rebound to its previous shape after we move).
Collagen and elastin are both proteins, made up by chains of amino acids. To help replenish them, this product supplies those building blocks to help stimulate your body's production of Type 1 Collagen and other constituents in your dermis to help lift, tone and provide more structure for the outer skin. They are delivered as peptides or short strings of highly digestible and absorbable amino acids, in the same ratio of collagen to elastin peptides that normally hold in our own bodies, which have been drawn from the collagen of a highly sustainable marine source: the skeletons and skin of the daily catch of certain types of bountiful fish, which have been "hydrolyzed," or broken down into very tiny bits with a low molecular weight.

Each vegetable capsule contains:
500 mg Hydrolyzed collagen, 6% elastin (from sustainably sourced fish skin and bones)
Non-medicinal ingredients: Natural vanilla flavour, vegetable magnesium stearate, and silicone dioxide, in a non-GMO capsule composed of vegetable carbohydrate gum and purified water.
This product uses a proprietary type of collagen called Collactive™ Collagen Complex, which has been verified by the Non-GMO Project. It is produced by Copalis Sea Solutions in Boulogne-sur-Mer (a fishing port in France), and is marketed in North America by PLT Health Solutions. A clinical study of 44 women over the age of 40 found a significant decrease in the number of deep wrinkles (about 20% fewer) in about 70% of the treatment group after 28 days, and found it also improved the skin's ability to retain moisture (an 8% increase of the entire epidermis hydration).
