Product Notes:
"Cacay" is the name of an abundant evergreen tree that grows in the drainage basins of two mighty rivers (the Amazon and Orinoco) straddling five countries at the top of South America (where it's also called Inchi, Tacay, Orinoco nut, Metohuayo, or Nuez de Barinas, and several other names).
Its edible fruit each contains several nuts, containing a single seed, each, whose oil is rich in skin-friendly linoleic acid, vitamin E, and retinol (vitamin A), and also has anti-bacterial properties.
About 70% of its content is linoleic acid, a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid which strengthens the natural skin barrier, promotes the development of new skin cells, helps prevent inflammation, and can even combat acne, psoriasis and hyperpigmentation.
Cacay's Vitamin E content not only has antioxidant properties to protect the skin against free radicals and help prevent premature skin aging, but also stimulates blood flow, which can increase collagen production and firmness. Similarly, its retinol can help hydrate the skin, maintain its firmness, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. People also use cacay oil to help diminish the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and blemishes.
Ingredients:
Cold-pressed Cacay (Caryodendron orinocense) seed oil, and Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract (as a preservative)
Sustainably wildcrafted in the heart of the Colombian rainforest, where it helps the emerging economy.
Suggested Usage:
Best applied on moist skin, like immediately following a shower or bath. Simply place five to eight drops of cacay seed oil in your hand and gently massage it on your face and neck. (Larger body parts may require more oil than that.)
