New Roots Herbal Active Mag with Taurine and Potassium naturally helps to support muscle function and energy metabolism.
Product Notes:
Although many of us seek out magnesium simply to help relax and/or sleep, we shouldn't overlook that it's also needed to stay active without too many ill effects, which is why it and its two teammates here often appear in energy or sports drinks. But those tend to have too much caffeine, sodium, and sugar, which come with a lot of risks, especially for younger people.
New Roots Herbal Active Mag provides a far safer alternative, with two important electrolytes to guard against muscle cramping and an amino acid to help maintain electrolyte balance and assist muscle recovery.
In human health, the "electrolytes" are a group of minerals that can conduct an electrical charge when dissolved in bodily fluids. The energy that furnishes plays a key role in activating the 'gateways' to individual cells which let other minerals or substances in or out, to control things like muscle function, hydration, blood acidity and blood pressure, and the repair of damaged tissue.
Magnesium and potassium are of course two such electrolytes, so Active Mag supplies biologically active forms of them to support not only energy genesis at the cellular level but also muscle performance (including the all-important heart, to help protect against cardiac arrhythmias) and nervous-system function (specifically, nerve-pulse conduction).
Although not technically an electrolyte itself, the third component, taurine, does help maintain electrolyte balance (through its roles in "osmoregulation"). Moreover, it also helps counteract muscle swelling immediately after exercise, and works with calcium to help muscles contract (known as "contractile function").
