Product Notes:
Bone/Joint Support - Inflammation & Pain
Joint pain due to old injuries, high impact activities, repetitive movements, increased weight, and aging and other factors depleting the cartilage and synovial fluids in our joints is quite common. About four million Canadians have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis, with a prevalence of about 10% in our early fifties rising to about half of those over the age of eighty.
Obviously, it can be quite a deterrent to staying active or continuing to engage in certain hobbies, but inactivity only makes it and other aspects of our health worse.
To help ease both the inflammation at the heart of this condition and the associated pain, this new advanced formulation draws on several herbs well known to the Ayurvedic tradition whose long history of traditional use is being borne out by modern science: Turmeric (which has been standardized here to contain 35% of its most active ingredients, curcuminoids); Boswellia (standardized to contain 65% of its active, boswellic acid); and White Willow Bark (whose active, salicin, was the inspiration for aspirin). Bromelain, a cluster of protein-oriented digestive enzymes sourced from pineapple stems, has also been included, since it, too, has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
Last, but not least, it also provides four types of targeted nutrients to help regenerate the connective tissues and fluids in our joints: two types of collagen (derived from cattle and roosters), which have been hydrolyzed or broken down into small fragments to increase their bioavailability; hyaluronic acid (which doesn't just plump up the skin but also helps lubricate joints); and NAG - a type of glucosamine or amino acid that's a precursor to or constituent of both cartilage (specifically, the keratan sulfate within that) and hyaluronic acid.
