Product Notes:
Extended Release Niacin
Niacin is an important member of the B vitamin family with a multitude of metabolic roles in the body, including helping energy production and metabolizing fats. Recently investigated for its positive effects on blood cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar levels, it's been described as the reference vitamin for increasing the “good” (HDL-C) and lowering the “bad” cholesterol when taken at high doses.
However, when high doses of niacin hit the bloodstream, that can lead to an increase in blood vessel dilation accompanied with redness and an itching or burning sensation of the skin. That problem can be greatly reduced if not completely eliminated with a special non-wax coating which produces a more controlled rate of release.
