Product Notes:
The natural cleansing benefits of fiber are indisputable: to help promote regularity, combat high cholesterol, support normal blood sugar levels, remove toxins, and quell appetite. But if you're not a big fan of the flavour or consistency of psyllium or other fibre supplements, this organic soluble fibre blend may be exactly what you're looking for. Made from a blend of clear, flavourless acacia (Acacia senegal) gum and the vitamin-C rich fruit Baobab, this is one of the easiest ways to add more fibre to your diet. So whenever you want to increase your fibre intake, simply stir a scoop of this into a glass of water and gulp it down to get on with your day.
Acacia Gum Fibre
Acacia is harvested from the sticky sap of a tree called Acacia senegal (aka Senegalia senegal), first documented by Swedish botanist Carolus Linnaeus in 1173. Typically dried and ground into a fine powder, acacia gum is highly soluble in water and is a nutritious, nonfat source of dietary fibre.
Acacia powder is high in soluble fibre, but yields little to no gastrointestinal side effects, whereas some soluble fibres such as inulin can cause gas and bloating for some people, and some find psyllium can be dehydrating. Acacia fibre is also a 'prebiotic', helping to promote the colonization of healthy bacteria in your intestinal tract, which might help be of help if you are prone to diarrhea.
Baobab Fruit Powder
Baobab is a Superfruit from a tree native to Africa, where its fruit pulp and seeds have traditionally been used to treat diarrhea and dysentery. It's not only a good source of fibre and rich in Vitamin C (and thus an antioxidant), but also contains plenty of other nutrients like Amino Acids, Essential Fatty Acids, Calcium, Potassium, Iron, Magnesium, and Vitamins A, B1, B2 and B6.
