If we want to eat healthy by cooking from scratch, we most probably don't want to eat a lot of extra fat. One way to deal with that when making chicken or other meat stocks that is to let it cool overnight so the fat rises to the top and separate it off, but that's not always feasible, with big pots, and sometimes you're just on a roll and want to get the job. Similarly, when making gravy from the juices from a new roast, you certainly don't want to wait, and maybe you don't have a functional turkey baster, or a dishwasher for it. This large stainless steel ladle provides the solution; there is a special slot in its head designed to drain off the liquid you want to keep when you tip it, so you can drop the fat into a different container.
Suggested Usage:
After dipping the ladle to fill it about 80%, just lift it up out of the pot. Because the fat will elevate to the surface, tilting the ladle will enable you to pour just the soup back into the pot through the slot on the rear of the head (near to the bottom of the handle), leaving just the fact in the spoon, which you can then dispose of into a different container. Repeat as necessary.
