When you hear the word bacteria you likely think of illness. But did you know there's such a thing as good bacteria? Also known as probiotics, these microbes help us digest food, boost the immune system, produce select B vitamins, protect the gut lining, and assist with elimination. They also ward off against disease-causing bacteria to help keep your health in tip top shape.
Probiotics occur naturally in the gut, but when we eat too much sugary and processed foods, this can kill off some of the good bacteria and let the bad bacteria thrive. This can lead to problems with digestion, immunity, mental health, skin health, and weight management.
Taking a probiotic supplement helps restore the gut flora to a healthy balance. PRO BIOTIKA is a combination of three strains of good bacteria: Lactobacillus gasseri, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Bifidobacterium longum. Enerex Pro Biotika+NAG guarantees at least one billion live bacteria in every capsule up until the date of expiry. (Even more than that, to start with.) Studies have shown that probiotics in these families can help relieve IBS, ulcerative colitis, diarrhea, eczema, Candida, constipation, and even urinary tract infections.
Inulin sourced from chicory root has also been included, to foster their growth. Also characterized as FOS* (fructo-oligosaccharides), inulin is a prebiotic which increases the reproduction and/or longevity of the probiotics by five to ten times by providing them with a food/energy source. And because many customers seeking probiotics may be suffering from inflammation, irritable bowel, or 'leaky gut' syndrome, this formula also provides a fair amount of NAG, which is short for N-Acetyl Glucosamine, which is generally derived naturally from the outer shells of shellfish. Glucosamine is one of the main constituents of joint tissue and other connective tissues, including the mucous membranes in our digestive and urinary tracts. The 'NA' form of it the superior form of it for intestinal tissue in particular, for conditions like Crohn's and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Many probiotics must be kept cool in order to maintain their effectiveness. However, this formula is shelf-stable, meaning it can be stored anywhere at home or be brought with you while travelling.

Each DR (Delayed Release) capsule contains:
Lactobacillus gasseri (Lg-36): 0.8 billion cfu
Bifidobacterium bifidum (Bb-06): 0.1 billion cfu
Bifidobacterium longum subsp. longum (Bl-05): 0.1 billion cfu
N-Acetylglucosamine (NAG): 300 mg
Inulin (Cichorium intybus, 90% fibre, root): 50 mg
Non-medicinal ingredients: Acacia gum, Gellan gum, Magnesium stearate (veg. source), Silicon dioxide, hypromellose (vegetarian cellulose complex DRcaps).
This product is dairy, soy, and gluten-free.
Suggested Usage:
Adults: Take 1 capsule three times daily with meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. Take at least two to three hours before or after any antibiotics you might be on. Store in a cool, dry place, away from th reach of children.
Warnings:
Do not use Enerex ProBiotika+NAG if you have an immune-compromised condition (e.g. AIDS, lymphoma, or undergoing long-term corticosteroid treatment). Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhoea or severe abdominal pain. Stop use and consult a healthcare practitioner if symptoms of digestive upset (e.g. diarrhea) occur, worsen and/or persists beyond 3 days.
