Product Notes:

Historical and Main Contemporary Uses for Emu Oil:

The indigenous people of Australia have used emu oil for centuries if not thousands of years for a variety of skin and muscle or joint conditions, massaging into the skin to promote healing of sun dried skin and bruises and burns, among other things. Because its composition is quite similar to our own skin and does not contain any phospholipids, it is able to penetrate the skin more quickly and much deeper than other types of oils, to moisturize, heal, and address inflammation.

Daily use will hydrate, nourish and soften the skin and may provide an effective treatment for various isolated skin conditions such as eczema or dry or inflamed skin. It's even gentle and safe enough to use on babies.

Other Uses for Pure Emu Oil:

A natural UV Sunblock: Although it should not be considered a substitute for a broad spectrum sunscreen on high UV-index days, Emu Oil does provide some degree of protection from the sun when applied before going outdoors; one source reports having tested a particular type and finding it to have a natural sun factor of SPF8. Emu Oil is sometimes added to sunscreens to enhance their effects, and can be applied prior to applying a sunscreen.

An effective repellent for some types of bugs (but not for mosquitoes): Emu Oil contains terpenes, natural substances which repel certain types of insects, particularly adult head lice, cockroaches, and triatomine bugs ("Kissing bugs").

About the Other Ingredients in the Elevated Serum

The Elevated Emu Serum has been bolstered with the concentrated oils from several types of skin-friendly plants, to provide even more protection from the sun and the elements, additional soothing relief from inflammatory conditions like acne, eczema, and rosacea, and to help reduce the appearance of redness, pigmentation, dark spots, and fine lines even further. These include skin-brightening Rosehip, UV-protecting Red Raspberry, and multi-talented Seabuckthorn seed oils.

Ingredients:

100% Emu Oil variety: no other ingredients. Sourced from an American Emu Association Certified farm, from free-range emus raised in a natural environment without pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, hormones or steroids. The emu fat is gently rendered and filtered to remove impurities at a refinery without using any harsh solvents or chemicals, to produce a superior, premium-quality oil.

Elevated Emu Serum: Emu Oil (see above), Rosa canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Rubus idaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil, Hippophae rhamnoides (Seabuckthorn) Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Aroma (Flavour), Pelargonium roseum x asperum (Rose Geranium) Oil.

Suggested Usage:

There are multiple uses for either product:
* As a facial moisturizer, apply a couple drops to your skin and massage to absorb; it will be absorbed more efficiently if applied to freshly cleaned damp skin.
Alternatively, you can mix a few drops into your favourite skin cream or moisturizer for an extra source of protection in dry or cold climates.
Use in both the morning and the evening to experience all its benefits.

* As a hair serum, apply sparingly to the strands or ends when the hair is damp, to seal in moisture. Do not rinse out.

* May also be applied on the scalp to sooth minor irritations.

* Also makes a luxurious cuticle oil treatment. Apply sparingly during the day for protection against the elements, and before bed for intensive moisture.

* As a soothing and regenerative treatment for irritated or inflamed skin conditions, apply a small amount directly to wounds or irritations.
