MODEL OPTIONS
Although they were produced in at least four individual models, depending on their 'trim', there are only two series of Blueair DustMagnets, which each use a different size filter: the smaller 5200 series still on offer here (which includes the all-white model 5210i and the part-gray model 5240i), which is designed for areas up to 212 sq. ft.; and the larger 5400 series (which includes the all-white model 5410i and the part-gray model 5440i), for areas as large as 356 sq. ft.
Apart from their size (and weight) differences, both types are a combination particle and carbon filter capable of removing some degree of light household odors, chemicals, and gases, as well as 99.97% of airborne particles like pollen and dust and 99% of germs like bacteria and viruses, when used in the appropriate Blueair machine equipped with HEPASilent™ filtration technology.
Changing Filters: You'll know when it's time, both from a filter change indicator light like this on the top panel, and an alert from the Blueair app, if you are using that.

Suggested Usage:
The very quick and easy procedure for changing the Dust Magnet Combo Filters is as follows, and is also illustrated in this DustMagnet Tutorial video, beginning at the 2 minute and 20 second mark.
Step 1: Turn the unit off and unplug it.
Step 2: Open the two filter hatches, and remove the pref-filter trays.
Step 3: Remove and dispose of the old main filters.
Step 4: Remove the protective plastic wrapper from the new main filters, and insert them.
Step 5: Close the two filter hatches.
Step 6: Plug in the unit, and press the airflow speed button for 15 seconds to reset the filter timer.
