As the most active and effective form of vitamin B5, Pantethine helps to synthesize Coenzyme A. CoA has scores of metabolic functions, including helping cellular energy production, phase II liver detoxification, and the synthesis (or regulation) of stress hormones, fatty acids, and cholesterol.
Product Notes:
Pantethine also helps make red blood cells and sex hormones, and helps maintain an optimal blood lipid balance by regulating the production of total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, and HDL - unlike standard vitamin B5.
You may think you're getting all the benefits you need from other forms of vitamin B5 such as pantothenic acid/calcium pantothenate, but chances are, you're not, because that needs to be converted into a more active form like Pantethine in order to help synthesize Coenzyme A (CoA), which only happens under certain circumstances (and is much less likely to, if you have insulin resistance, for example).
