Product Notes:
To have a perfectly functioning brain and body, we need many phospholipids. Included in those we need are phosphatidylserine (PS), phosphatidylcholine (PC), and phosphatidylinositol (PI). As we age, we need these nutrients, and many supplements will not provide us with them.
AOR's Citicoline, unlike many other supplements, can work to enhance the body so it can provide and create its own phospholipids. Citicoline works by helping the body to create cytidine diphosphate (or CDP) through the process of delivering cytidine to the cells. It is the CDP, which AOR's Citicoline may help your body produce, that aids in the production of your own phospholipids.
Applications: Cognitive support; Age-associated memory impairment (AAMI); Support for nerves of the eye.
Citicoline is cytidine diphosphate choline, and is also called CDP-Citicoline or CDP-Choline. Its main component is its cytidine group, which is what citicoline delivers to the brain. Cytidine is a neurologically essential nucleoside that enables CDP-Citicoline to be, first and foremost, an enhancer of the brain's ability to produce its own essential phospholipids.
Phospholipids are fundamental in the synthesis of neurotransmitters and the proper functioning of neural cell membranes - both highly significant factors for healthy cognitive function. CDP-Citicoline supplementation has been shown to increase phosphatidylserine (PS) levels by over 37%, phospatidylcholine (PC) levels by 22-30%, phosphatidylinositol (PI) levels by 16%, and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) levels by 11-13%.
CDP-Citicoline also increases the production of key neurotransmitters, including acetylcholine, norepinephrine, dopamine, and serotonin. Clinical trials have noted the success of CDP-Citicoline supplementation in such conditions as Alzheimer's disease, stroke, dementia associated with Parkinson's disease, and head trauma.

The Only Citicoline Backed by 95+ Clinical Trials
One study, conducted by the US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine in Natick, Massachusetts, measured the effects of CDP-Citicoline supplementation on elderly subjects suffering from 'normal' age-associated memory impairment (AAMI).
It found that CDP-Citicoline was "clearly associated with improved immediate and delayed logical memory", and that the effects occurred on a dose-dependent basis. For CDP-Citicoline to earn such definitive assent from such a results-oriented institution speaks for itself.
