Product Notes:
The Stone Breaker - Chanca Piedra Improves Urinary Tract Health
Kidney stones differ in composition and are most commonly formed from excess calcium. Your chances of developing a stone appear to depend on diet, genetics, and kidney function, but there is still a lot that is unknown about this process.
Phyllanthus Niruri is an Ayurvedic herb with a rich history of traditional uses. Notable writings extend back over 2,000 years for a variety of ailments including jaundice and skin ulcerations as well as urinary and kidney health.
Described as the "stone breaker" or "stone crusher," chanca piedra has interesting data demonstrating potential for kidney stones size reduction. From the numerous studies conducted it seems that Chanca Piedra has a role in reduction in stone size as well as formation.
Chanca Piedra is a fairly small plant which grows a foot or two high certain coastal areas, particularly in the rainforests of the Amazon. Its scientific Latin name is Phyllanthus niruri and it also goes by other names, including "gale of the wind" and "seed-under-leaf."
Chanca Piedra has traditionally been used to break up or expel gallstones and kidney stones, and even help prevent their formation, not only by many generations of Amazonian indigenous peoples, but also in Ayurvedic medicine, where it's also used for stomach, liver, and spleen problems. Studies have shown it may be able to help protect the liver from toxins and oxidative damage. This powerful extract may also work as an anti-viral for the hepatitis B virus.
